Several players and family members from Syosset Baseball Association enjoyed a fun-filled evening at Shea Stadium on Aug. 5 as the New York Mets faced the Chicago Cubs.

The New York Mets Baseball Academy extended an invitation to Syosset Baseball Association players and families to come to "The Big Shea" for a fun-filled evening for $25 per person and a great seat in the picnic area.
Prior to the start of the game, the kids had a great opportunity to meet some of their favorites for an autograph session. Catcher Ramon Castro, outfielder Gerald Williams and third base coach, Manny Acta, graciously signed autographs prior to game time.
The New York Mets Baseball Academy had the honor of parading its players onto the warning track prior to the start of the game for the National Anthem. The Diamond Vision scoreboard proudly scanned the Syosset contingent throughout the stadium, followed by a fireworks display in centerfield during the National Anthem.
Throughout the game, the New York Mets Baseball Academy provided giveaways of pins, shirts, hats, bags, balls and pants.
The evening ended with an 8 to 1 victory for the Amazin's and a nice transition into New York Mets Baseball Academy week at Syosset Woodbury Park the week of Aug. 22 through Aug. 26 and Aug. 29 through Sept. 2.
The New York Mets Baseball Academy has announced that they will be having another New York Mets Baseball Academy Night at Shea, Sept. 29 vs the Colorado Rockies. All players and families attending New York Mets Baseball Academy Camp either of the two weeks will be eligible to purchase tickets to this exciting evening.
