Community Banning Together to Help Leukemia Patient
Kirsten Stauder is a fighter and has been battling leukemia for three years. Now a fourth grader at Holy Family School in Hicksville, Kirsten underwent her third bone marrow transplant this week thanks to a donation from her 6-month-old baby brother Kevin. As a result, she will be recuperating in isolation in Schneider Children's Hospital in Manhasset for the next eight weeks with her parents, Tim and Linda, by her side.

Syosset Flames Take Two Over Jericho
As a week of rain, rain, rain gave way to sunlight, the Syosset Flames of the SYAC Travel Softball Program took two games from the Jericho Juggernaut on October 16. The Flames won 9-3 and 14-11 over their crosstown rivals in bettering their record to 8-2 on the season in their U10 division.

Syosset Baseball Association players who attended the New York Mets Baseball Academy camp at Syosset Woodbury Park in late August were invited to join the New York Mets Baseball Academy at Shea Stadium to see the New York Mets battle the Colorado Rockies on New York Mets Baseball Academy Night.
