SYAC Girls Softball announces three more dates for girls to sign up and be evaluated for the 2006 SYAC Softball Season. Several hundred girls have signed up already to play ball this coming spring.

Sign-ups take place in the H.B. Thompson Middle School cafeteria, with a brief skills evaluation session afterward in the gymnasium. Cost for the SYAC 2006 Season is $85, payable by check or cash at the time of sign-up.

The following dates are announced: Tuesday, January 17, 7-10 p.m., for players in the Senior League (grades 6-7-8); Monday, January 23, 7-10 p.m., for players in the Pony Division (grades 2-3). An additional last chance sign-up date is Saturday, February 11, 9 a.m.- noon. Girls should bring a fielder's glove and wear sneakers (no cleats).

Sign-up for the Junior League (grades 4-5) was held on Monday, January 9. Any Junior level players who missed the date may come to another session.

Sign-up for the Instructional League (K-1) is by mail; no evaluation is required. A mailing was made in January.

Parent coaching and sponsorship positions are still available. Prospective coaches must attend sign-up sessions with their daughters, and there is a brief coaches interview.
