The legendary Heavyweight Boxing Champion, Joe Frazier, appeared at the Syosset REMAX Prime Real Estate office last Saturday to help raise funds for the Children's Miracle Network. Hundreds of people attended, got a photo taken with Frazier and/or a signed boxing glove. The proceeds will go directly to Schneider Children's Hospital on Long Island.
"It's a pleasure to be involved in something like this that is for a good cause," said Champ Joe Frazier, 62, and a father of 11 children from 14 to 45. "I am excited to be here to help the kids in any way that I can."
Joe Frazier, one of the greatest athletes of all time, holds a record of 37 bouts, 32 wins, 4 losses, 1 draw, and 27 KO's. He was the 1964 Olympic Heavyweight Gold Medal Champion, World Heavyweight Champ (1970-73); decisioned, former Champ Muhammad Ali in March 1971 in one of the most anticipated prizefights in history, fought Ali twice more, losing both times including the "Thrilla in Manila" in 1975.

Meringoff added, "It was an incredible turnout and to see both children and adults enjoy Joe Frazier so much was such a thrill. There was a great community spirit felt throughout the day."
Former New York State Boxing Commissioner (1988-1995) Randy Gordon of Oyster Bay said, "I interviewed Joe two days before the famous fight as a sports writer for Ring magazine." Gordon added, "He was always the nicest man, a mentor to me, and inspired me to go on to become an ESPN sportscaster and open my own gym - Evolution Fitness Business."
Oyster Bay Town Councilman Chris J. Coschignano also stopped by to award REMAX Prime Real Estate in Syosset with a Citation stating "outstanding accomplishments advancing the welfare of the community through REMAX's involvement of many worthwhile and charitable endeavors ... raising money for the Children's Miracle Network Charity benefiting hospitals on Long Island."
