Eleanor S. Trullinger died peacefully on March 17, 2006 in Fort Myers, FL. She was 92. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, she graduated from Chatham College; she also attended MIT and St. John's University. During WW II she served in the Waves.
Eleanor lived more than 40 years in Syosset and taught mathematics for many years in Syosset (high school and junior high school). She was a member of the Huntington Women's Club, Huntington Historical Society, League of Women Voters, and joined in Huntington Chorale activities and travel. She volunteered at the Nassau County Museum of Art. During her life, she traveled widely throughout the world.
In 1997, Eleanor moved to Shell Point Retirement Community in Fort Myers, FL. There, she led an active life until the end, with many friends. She was an avid bridge player, attended theatre and concerts, and supported various philanthropic causes. She is survived by sons Jim and Jeff Trullinger, who reside in Naples, FL. There will be a memorial dinner on March 25 in Fort Myers; there will be no service, at her request. The family encourages all who knew this wonderful woman to remember her smile, kindness, and graciousness.
