The third and fourth grade Jericho Girls Lacrosse Club ended their regular season on Sunday, June 4, with a very strong performance against a talented squad from Massapequa. Jericho scored the first three goals of the contest as a result of superb defense and excellent passing and shooting. The Massapequa team made a strong comeback in the second half bringing the score to 3 - 2 with five minutes to go in the fourth quarter. The Brookwood Day Camp Sand Gnats defeated the Hiram Cohen & Sons Grasshoppers by the score of 4-2 on Tuesday evening, May 30. The Sand Gnats had another outstanding pitching performance by Daniel Schneider who struck out 10 batters in his 4 innings of work. The Gnats clinched 2nd place in the final standings and will enjoy a first-round bye this weekend. Nicholas Mu came on to pitch the final two frames for the Gnats and held the Grasshoppers scoreless to preserve the victory. FULL STORY
