Rivkin Radler clinched the 2006 Syosset Junior League Championship with a 10-7 victory over Inter-Reco, after capturing first place in regular season play with an impressive 11-2 record. After receiving a bye in the first round of the playoffs, Rivkin Radler faced Traymar Plastics in the second round. They defeated Traymar by the score of 8-1 with an outstanding pitching performance by Nick Bilianis. Powerful offense was fueled by the bats of Bobby Albanese, Richie Happel, Alex Contino, Brandon Varolian, Zac Beider, Matt Ramirez and a 2 run homer by Mike Moore. Impressive defense was supplied by Justin Cassandro, Mike Capritto, Rahem Lahkani, Bobby Matozzo, Ross Zuckerman and Joshua Blond.

Rivkin Radler advanced to the championship game against the very talented Inter-Reco team. "We knew we had to stop Reco's bats. Our team had prepared all season for this game, and we had a total of eight pitchers who had pitched throughout the regular season and were ready to take the mound," said manager Kerry Albanese. With Bobby Albanese and Nick Bilianis no longer eligible to pitch, they went behind the plate and caught and Moore/Varolian/Bieder took the mound. "My boys had trained so incredibly hard, I had no doubt that they had the skills and confidence to win, and the defeat of Inter-Reco by the score of 10-7 was pure and simple a total team effort," said manager Albanese. The game featured outstanding hitting by Nick Bilianis, Mike Moore, Brandon Varolian, Alex Contino, Zac Bieder and a 2 run opposite field double by Bobby Albanese. Excellent defense by Mike Capritto, Richie Happel, Joshua Blond, Rahem Lahkani, Ross Zuckerman, Bobby Matozzo, Matt Ramirez, Nick Bilianis and Justin Cassandro sealed the game behind the exceptional pitching performances of Brandon Varolian and closer Zac Bieder. "When coach Rich Happel and I assemble this team, our goal was to draft players who loved baseball, had good attitudes and would work hard to elevate their game. Not only did the boys achieve this, they surpassed it," said Albanese. "They always played as a team and made us extremely proud. We had an exceptional season and the championship was the icing on the cake. This was our dream team."
