The Syosset Braves Varsity Baseball team defeated the Baldwin Royals in the championship playoff game on Sunday, August 13 to become the 2006 Nassau County Varsity Champs. Entering the final playoff round Syosset's record was 4 wins, 1 loss. Baldwin was undefeated. Syosset needed to win the doubleheader playoff against Baldwin to earn the title.

In a very closely matched first game Syosset defeated the Baldwin Royals 4-2. Syosset demonstrated an outstanding team effort again in the second game and won 13-4. Syosset's team spirit, camaraderie and love for the game contributed to their success. Thanks to Coaches Jack Ciano, Tom and Tommy Morritt for their time, for being wonderful role models and for their caring, positive attitudes throughout the years.
