Lloyd Mott, assistant director of the New York State Public High School Athletic Association, presents Nancy Sammis, the Jericho School District Curriculum Associate for Health, Physical Education and Athletics, with the NYSPHSAA 2005-2006 "School of Distinction" Award. Jericho qualified for this prestigious award after 100 percent of all varsity teams during the 2005-2006 school year were declared Scholar/Athlete Teams with academic averages above 90 percent. Only nine high schools in New York State qualified for this prestigious award for the 2005-2006 school year. This is the second year in a row that Jericho has been designated a "School of Distinction," one of only three high schools in the state to achieve this honor.
