On Saturday, Sept. 30, Syosset Braves pitcher, Richard Bomzer, pitched a no hitter versus home team, The Roslyn Rockets at Christopher Morley Park. Bomzer, playing for the Brave's 13-year-old travel team, managed by Jerry Wolkis, enjoyed great help from his teammates in route to his no hit performance.

Brian O'Connell, playing shortstop, made a spectacular catch as he dove high and behind to keep the no-hitter preserved. Bomzer went into the sixth inning, ahead with a 2-1 lead. As the bottom of the sixth progressed, Bomzer had 2 outs, man on third. Bomzer's pitch passed by the catcher. The Rockets player on third left third for home to tie the game. Dillon Montag, Bomzer's catcher, gained his composure of the pass ball, scrambled to get it and tagged the runner out at home to end the game and preserve the no hitter for Bomzer and the victory for the Syosset Braves.

Congratulations to Richard Bomzer and the Wolkis team for this outstanding accomplishment and victory.
