The Syosset Braves Midget Red Cheerleading Squad joined the Hofstra cheerleaders on Nov. 4 to cheer on the Hofstra football team at their game against Rhode Island. The girls began their day early Saturday morning at the Hofstra gym. The Hofstra cheerleaders taught the Syosset girls a few new cheers, a halftime dance routine, and then they worked on some stunts. The girls practiced at Hofstra for 2-1/2 hours, before the game began.

During the game, the Hofstra cheerleaders invited our girls down onto the field to cheer along with them. Using the cheers that they had learned from the morning practice session, as well as a cheer of their own, Syosset's girls performed with precision. At halftime, the Syosset girls participated in the dance routine and executed stunts. The performance was exciting for the fans as well as for the girls. Syosset should be proud to have been represented by these delightful cheerleaders.

The Hofstra cheerleaders were gracious hosts and great role models for the younger cheerleaders. The Syosset girls were thrilled to work with the Hofstra team and can't wait to participate again next year.
