In a game filled with playoff intensity, the Robin Hood Day Camp Pistons edged the Shaevitz & Shaevitz Bulls 31-30 in week 2 action in the JAA 5th Grade Boys Basketball division. The Pistons' Jake Zorfas sealed the victory with a clutch free throw with only 4 seconds remaining in the game, breaking a 30-30 tie. A half-court heave by the Bulls' Ryan Wu bounced off the rim as time expired.

The game featured excellent defense by both teams. The Pistons' defensive effort was led by Jack Roberts, Jason Barbagallo, Jonah Caspe, Zach Seigmann, Sanjay Kalra, Brett Rosenberg and David Hochler, who had several key rebounds when the game was on the line. The Bulls' strong defense was anchored by Ian Greene, Matthew Kutner, Jason Jun, Vincent Wu, Ryan Wu, Matthew Jaffee, Max Shaevitz and Jonathan Dong.

The seesaw battle, which featured several lead changes late in the game, also showcased some outstanding offensive performances. The Pistons were led by point guard Jake Zorfas, who finished with 13 points, and center Spencer Shapiro, who added 11 points and numerous rebounds and blocked shots. The Bulls offensive attack was spearheaded by Daniel Schneider, who led all scorers with 18 points.

With the Pistons leading by a single point, Ian Greene sank a free throw with 11 seconds remaining to knot the score at 30 apiece. After a time out, Zorfas took the ball the length of the court and was fouled while attempting a lay up. After missing the first foul shot, Zorfas calmly sank the second to seal the victory. The Robin Hood Day Camp Pistons moved to 2-0 on the season. The Shaevitz & Shaevitz Bulls dropped to 1-1.
