Syosset Fire Department: Make This Holiday Season a Safe One
During this festive time of the year, it is often easy to overlook fire safety, when in fact many of the things we do - such as putting up trees, plugging in strands of bright lights, burning candles and cooking holiday meals - can and do lead to an increased risk of fire at home. For these reasons, the Syosset Fire Department (SFD) urges residents within the Syosset Fire District to be vigilant and practice holiday fire safety to ensure a healthy and happy holiday season.

Venditto Calls on Cerro Applicants to Withdraw Petition, Consider Appropriate Development
Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto, stating that the time has come to bring the issue of a proposed shopping mall at the former Cerro Wire site in Syosset to a close, announced that he has asked the applicants to "do the right thing by the Town of Oyster Bay and its residents and withdraw its petition and consider another use for the site."

Syosset Giants Defeat Massapequa Jets in The LI Flag League Superbowl
The Syosset Giants (9-1) Youth Freshman Class A (8-year-olds) capped off a nearly perfect season by beating the Massapequa Jets (9-1) 27-6 in the final round of what was a very grueling playoff schedule. The game was played in front of nearly 100 friends and family on the new turf field at Syosset Woodbury Park.

CYO Registration Underway
St. Ignatius CYO is back; registration is now under way for St. Ignatius CYO Intramural and travel team 2007 baseball season. The league is open to boys and girls ages 5 through 14.
