The Syosset High School Library was filled with students gathered to read and listen to both original and published poetry in honor of Poetry Appreciation Day. The event was sponsored by Ken, the school's art and literary magazine that is published twice each year. The first edition, scheduled for publication soon, is titled "First Person," and will feature autobiographical pieces.

Ken Editor-in-Chief Kimberly Eisler greeted the students and faculty members and encouraged them to submit their own creative work for publication. The magazine features original works by both students and faculty. The staff meets every Tuesday after school and all are welcome to attend.
