The members of Trident Engine Company #3 invite all the residents of the western sections of the Jericho Fire District to attend their open house. The open house will be held on Sunday, April 15 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Jericho Fire Station #2, located on Cantiague Rock Road. Residents will meet the firefighters and medical personnel who man the firehouse that is closest to them. They can see the equipment and fire and rescue vehicles used to protect them and understand why the members volunteer their time to protect the community.

The highlight of this year's open house will be the introduction of Jericho's newest fire engine, a 1,500 gallon per minute pumper incorporating the latest firefighting equipment. This new engine will be "first due" to alarms in the western end of the fire district.

Many residents may not realize that the Jericho Fire Department is an all-volunteer department. No member receives any pay for the job they do, only the satisfaction of protecting those who live and work in the area. In addition to fighting fires, an ever-increasing responsibility for the fire department are medical emergencies and for that reason a number of the members are NY State certified EMTs and paramedics, who man an ambulance responding from this station.

Remember the date ... Sunday, April 15 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Station #2 on Cantiague Rock Road. Meet the firefighters, see the fire trucks and enjoy refreshments such as ice cream, popcorn, hot dogs, soda, coffee and doughnuts. Bring the entire family.
