Opinion

I had the pleasure of attending Stan Greenberg's book talk last week at the Jericho Library. He read some of his Over 60 and Getting Younger columns to the attentive crowd. Some of the selections were from his book, a compilation of his past columns with the same name, and some were more recent.

Stan Greenberg at his recent book talk at the Jericho Library.

Greenberg was in his element telling his stories to the audience. Seeing him reading his columns with such feeling, emotion and animation made for a great evening.

Characters that were previously names in his columns were now actual people who came out to support their friend at the book talk and to share their version of his stories. Seeing Greenberg and his friends reminisce about the good old days in the Bronx was very refreshing.

Greenberg was supported, as always, by his wife Lorraine, who provided refreshments for those in attendance.

The book talk was very entertaining and the Jericho community is very lucky to have the Greenbergs. Keep reading Greenberg's column in the Syosset-Jericho Tribune each week and look for dates of his future book talks in the paper as well.
