The Syosset Chamber of Commerce held its November meeting at the Fox Hollow on Jericho Turnpike in Woodbury. The dinner meeting nominated new officers and directors. In addition, Town of Oyster Bay Receiver of Taxes, James J. Stefanich, was the guest speaker. Stefanich covered the tax procedure for the town, how it can be collected, and where it goes to. He used comparisons to county and state taxes, and discussed differences involving school taxes.

A slate of new officers and directors, including three new directors were selected. Effective January 1, 2008, the incoming officers will be, President: Kevin Allison, of Allison Signs & Marketing, 1st Vice President: Chris J. Coschignano, of Chris J. Coschignano P.C. - 2nd Vice President: Danielle Delgrosso, of Astoria Federal Savings Bank - 3rd Vice President: Lisa Predmore, Clinical Audiologist - Secretary: Josephine Costa, La Viola Restaurant - Treasurer: Dr. Brian Goldberg, of Goldberg Chiropractic.

Three new directors are, Moira Patterson, Smith Barney - Craig Smith, J.P. Morgan Chase - Marilyn Urso, L.I. Village Realty.

Continuing their terms as directors are: Maria Anderson, Maria's Gift Shop - Jack Biondo, Syosset Equities - William J. Chabina Jr., W.J. Chabina Insurance - Warren Church, President Syosset-Woodbury Rotary Club - Thomas Dunne, Smith Barney - Sofi Kaufman, SMK Consulting - Philip Rhoads, Civic Member - Lee A. Schwartz, Attorney - Steve Schwimmer, Renaissance Associates - Tricia Shannon, Shawn Elliott Homes - Michael Siciliano, Birchwood Fine Homes - Dominic Dantona, Dantona Industries.
