The Syosset Council of PTAs is hosting the Know Your Candidate Forum on Thursday, May 16, 2013, at 8:00 p.m. in the Auditorium at South Woods Middle School. Voters in the Syosset Central School District are invited to meet and question candidates for The Board of Education. Refreshments will be served before the forum. This forum will be simulcast on WKWZ, 88.5 FM.

Child Abuse Prevention Services (CAPS), Long Island’s leading nonprofit resource on the prevention of child abuse and neglect, and provider of bully prevention and child safety education, will host its 15th annual Golf Outing benefit, Monday, June 17 at The Muttontown Country Club, East Norwich. The benefit supports CAPS’ prevention-through-education student programs, which are offered at no cost to all elementary, middle and high schools in Nassau and Suffolk. The outing begins at 10 a.m. with golfer registration and brunch; shotgun start is at noon; cocktails and a buffet dinner begin at 5:00 p.m. John J.
