Child Abuse Prevention Services 15th Annual Golf Outing Benefit

Child Abuse Prevention Services (CAPS), Long Island’s leading non-profit resource on the prevention of child abuse and neglect, and provider of bully prevention and child safety education, will host its 15th annual Golf Outing benefit, Monday, June 17 at The Muttontown Country Club, East Norwich. The benefit supports CAPS’ prevention-through-education student programs, which are offered at no cost to all elementary, middle and high schools in Nassau and Suffolk. The outing begins at 10am with golfer registration and brunch; shotgun start is at noon; cocktails and a buffet dinner begin at 5 pm. John J. Photo Benefit for Little Shelter Animal Rescue

A benefit for Little Shelter Animal Rescue and Adoption Center will be held on Saturday, June 29 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cold Spring Harbor Library & Environmental Center at 95 Harbor Road, Cold Spring Harbor. Len Marks Photography will be here to take a 4 x 6 photo of you and your pet with a $10 minimum donation to Little Shelter.  Additional photos may be purchased at a discounted rate. No cats please for the photo shoot. Volunteers from Little Shelter will be here with dogs for adoption. Registration is requested for the photo shoot. Walk-ins will be taken on a first come, first served basis depending on availability. Open to all of Long Island- The Association of Generational Experts for Seniors (AGES) is hosting its first FREE “Options For Our Aging World Family & Caregiver Resource Fair” at Lutheran Church of Our Savior, located at 12 Franklin Avenue in Port Washington, NY. Taking place from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., this comprehensive event will provide caregivers managing the health and well being of today’s seniors with a one-stop-forum for gathering vital information, products and services to help support senior care, wellness and quality of life.

Free Veterinary Lectures

Once a month through December. Long Island Cat Fanciers sponsors free lectures given by top local veterinarians on topics relevant to dog and cat owners. Muttontown Unitarian Universalist Fellowship

The Fellowship provides an atmosphere of warmth and camaraderie, with talks presented by intelligent, enlightening and non-dogmatic speakers who come from the entire spectrum of the arts, history and sciences.
