Sarah Meyland, director of the Center for Water Resources Management at New York Institute of Technology, is scheduled to speak about the future of Long Island’s water supply. Maureen Murphy of the Citizens Campaign for the Environment will discuss what is in the region’s drinking water, and the Nassau County Department of Health will speak about testing and water quality. Young Women Achievers Annual Awards Breakfast

Women’s Fund of Long Island honors women achievers at this program featuring Wini Freund, long-time activist for women’s issues; and Elizabeth Jordan, renowned social change photographer and philanthropist. Cantor Magda Fishman & Cantor Rich Pilatsky

This installation will be part of Shabbat Services, and followed by a festive Oneg Shabbat, when refreshments will be served. Cantor Magda Fishman graduated from the Jewish Theological Seminary’s H.L Miller Cantorial School.  She has created a unique blend of traditional and contemporary styles. Cantor Rich Pilatsky started his professional career as a music teacher at P.S. 69 in Jackson Heights. He left teaching to enter the family business, but after many years in the business world, returned to his true loves, music and Judaism, and entered cantorial school.
