Syosset’s new indoor trampoline park, Bounce! Trampoline Sports, is expanding its offerings to include hip-hop cardio class Kerboomka, a unique workout routine developed by Long Island native and fitness guru Kershel Anthony.
“Our goal is to offer the most cutting edge trampoline and fitness activities anywhere,” says Nick Caplan, General Manager of the Syosset facility.
Anthony, a personal trainer and dance choreographer, describes Kerboomka as “a cardio dance fitness program that targets the major muscle groups while infusing hip hop inspired movements in a high- energy, jammed-packed hour!”Kerboomka is different than other fitness routine, says Anthony, because it stimulates both the body and the mind by utilizing dance steps and choreography taught in a fun and easy-to-learn style.
The steps are taught in sections and in counts of eight, then repeated so you can remember them easily. The songs get faster so you push yourself and work harder and faster, says Anthony, ultimately burning more calories.
While in Florida in 2007, Anthony came up with Kerboomka while teaching a group fitness class at his local gym. It was a way for him to fuse together dance and fitness and create a fun and effective workout.
Anthony says Kerboomka’s goal is to “give people of all ages the opportunity to learn choreography and to discover their love of dance through fitness.”
