Bravo! Your editorial titled “Transparency: You’re Doing It Wrong” accurately described the workings of the Syosset CSD and the board. I am one of many residents who is frustrated by the school district and the board.
I have resided in the district for over 28 years. My two children went through the system and graduated from the high school. Over the years, the administrators and the board have failed to respond to any questions I had and ignored me. I have many friends with similar experiences. We all feel helpless.
It is obvious to many in the community that the board and the administrators are in bed together. Both are profiting from this relationship. The administrators’ salaries are the clearest confirmation of this.
With the latest incident—the so-called “theft”—I have no doubt that the community will never learn what really happened. The board and the administrators will hide behind their attorney and refuse to tell us anything. What else is new?
I hope that the power of the press can finally disarm the board and the administrators. Our Constitution guarantees this right and we certainly need to have you use it once again. This is the only way the truth will come out.
