As is now common knowledge, the Trustees of the School Board of the Syosset Central School District were informed by Dr. Carole Hankin of her intent to resign for the purpose of retirement. Her retirement will be effective as of October 31, 2013.
The nine trustees of the Board of Education assure you that both the Board and the School District are as outstanding as they have ever been. The Board recognizes the enormity of the responsibility that accompanies the selection of a successor to Dr. Hankin. As a Board, we will proceed thoughtfully and diligently while keeping the needs of all of our students and families first and foremost in our minds. The excellence in education that has become the trademark of the Syosset School District will continue unabated.
For now, the Board wishes Dr. Hankin the very best in her future. We thank her for her leadership and genuine concern for each and every student and faculty member within our district. The Board Trustees will keep the public informed of the upcoming process.
Again, we remain deeply committed to your children, our faculty, as well as all those who reside within the Syosset Central School District. With the expert advice which we will seek, the Board will make the very best possible decision on behalf of the School District.
We wish you a happy and safe summer.
