The Syosset Girls U9 Travel Soccer team finished the season with a first- place win in the Platinum division at the Commack Memorial Day Tournament. The girls won four games and went undefeated over the weekend. United/Hotshots outscored their opponents with extremely strong defense.
The prior week, the girls played in the Just Say Soccer State Cup Final championship game. The State Cup began in the fall with United finishing in the top of their group play. They went on to win several close games including an overtime shootout versus East Islip and a semi-final win 1-0 versus HBC Extreme. Although the girls fell to a strong team from Orangeburg, it was a highlight to their season. The United finished their regular season in first place of the major division in JSS competition. The defense was led by goalkeeper Stephanie Wiener, Kendall Halpern, Anabel Wiener, Nicole Fanelli, and Maya Croce. The offense was played by Gabi Wood, Julia Sobel, Sally Hooey, Charlotte Twohig, Nicole Barkoff, Caroline Ruggiero, Ellie Ruggiero, and Claire Galante.
