SYAC Travel Softball Teams Continue Their Winning Ways

The Syosset Cyclones, whose three squads comprise the travel division of SYAC Girls Softball, piled up the wins in games this past weekend.

The U9 squad, playing against the Lady Cobras in Roslyn on Sunday, Sept. 16, cruised to an 11-9 win. The team’s record is now 2-0.

The U12 squad, playing against East Meadow, the home team, split a doubleheader. They won game one, 8-5, on good pitching from Pam Kreinces. She was backed up with three hits from Caroline DiCostanzo and two big shots from Rachel Posen. Syosset lost the second game 15-5 to bring their record for the season so far to 3-1.

On Saturday, the U10 Cyclones of sixth graders scrimmaged the U12 Cyclones of seventh graders. No score was kept in what is a series of instructional scrimmages. The U10 squad, which is in the East Meadow League, had a bye this past weekend. In addition to the travel program, SYAC Girls Softball hosts a spring community softball program for girls.
