The three Syosset Cyclones teams continued to pile up the wins in softball games this past weekend. The Cyclones comprise the travel division of SYAC Girls Softball.
The U12 squad, playing in East Meadow under cloudless early fall skies, took on a well-schooled Massapequa gold team. They jumped to an early lead on timely hitting and aggressive baserunning and won the game 8-6.
Also playing in East Meadow, the U10 Cyclones won a pair of games against Port Washington. The Cyclones came together as a team and pressured the opposition with solid pitching and heads-up running on the basepaths. The team is 4-0 for the season.
The U9 squad, playing at the home field of Syosset-Woodbury Park, lost a close game to the Little Neck-Douglaston Daredevils. The game ended on a positive note, as the Cyclones’ bats came alive for a last-inning rally. The team is 2-1 in the Rocky Pacent League.
In addition to the travel program, SYAC Girls Softball hosts a spring community softball program for girls. For more information visit www.SYACGS.org.
