The Syosset Braves 11-year-old football team recently won the Superbowl Championship Game against the Rosedale Jets with a final score of 13 to 0.
Enduring record low 30-degree temperatures, with a 0-degree windchill, the Syosset Braves came to win—setting the field on fire with their first touchdown in the first quarter and then securing the win with their second touchdown in the third quarter.
It was an amazing team effort led by quarterback Jack Fine, and thunderous running by Tommy Dolciotto and Johnny Harris. Stellar defensive efforts held Rosedale to a shut out with big plays on the defensive side of the ball by Michael Ackerman, Alex Berland, Michael Castoro, Dominic Neeson, Niko Tarasenko, Alfredo Brucculeri and Joseph Terino.
The offense was a force to be reckoned with led by the great blocking on the offensive line by Luke Chen, John Gangemi, Harrison Goldberg, Gabriel Izakson, Daniel Predmore, Giovanni Ramirez, and Joseph Terino. The boys will remember this glorious season for years to come.
The amazing victory was possible by the hard work the boys put into each practice and game led by the amazing coaching efforts of Lead Coach Craig Fine, and coaches Tom Dolciotto, Joe Gangi, Joe Terino, and Ely Izakson... And don’t forget our amazing lead team mom, Tina Mourelatos, for keeping us organized all season!
