The Jericho blue sox 11-year-old travel baseball team finished their NJBL season in second place with an impressive 11-3 record.
After a season opening loss to the Point Lookout Mariners, the Blue Sox reeled off 11 victories in their final 13 games including an exciting come from behind victory against the New York Scorpions, a team that hadn’t lost a game in two years. In the season finale, the Blue Sox again showed their ability to battle back, rebounding from an early 3 run deficit to defeat the Sayville Grays.
Throughout the season, all of the Blue Sox demonstrated great sportsmanship and camaraderie. The coaches of the team, Ray Herzog, Charles Doria and Andrew Rothstein said that they could not be more proud of how the team has come together over the past two years of playing together. The boys have not only developed into excellent teammates on the field, but also have become wonderful friends off the field. The coaches would also like to thank the Blue Sox parents for all their help and support throughout the season.
