Five Jericho High School students recently participated in the fourth annual Long Island Ethics Bowl, which was sponsored by the Squire Foundation held at Molloy College.
The High School Ethics Bowl is a competitive yet collaborative event in which students analyze and discuss real-life, and timely, ethical issues. The team was coached by social studies teacher and debate coach, Mary Moran.
On the team is Morgan Smiley, Anuhita Basavaraju, Jasdeep Kaur, Ben Kronengold and Ken Aizawa. They deliberated all day with students representing many other Long Island High Schools. The team was awarded first place and will be representing Long Island at the National Ethics Bowl at the Parr Center for Ethics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on April 19 and 20. This is the first year that Jericho students participated in this deliberative event.
