On Sept. 9, the students of the Carle Place School District hopped, skipped and jumped into the first day of school. Superintendent of Schools David Flatley and Principal Thomas DePaola greeted students on the steps of Carle Place Middle and High School. The seniors gathered prior to first period and proceeded into the high school together, a tradition marking the final chapter of their scholastic journey together.
Rushmore Avenue School was the next to start its day. Principal Susan Folkson welcomed students with a smile as they arrived, excited to kick off another year. At Cherry Lane Elementary School, Principal Marilyn Manfredi was first in a receiving line made up of staff and PTA members, who assisted the youngsters in finding their way. Students in grades K to 3 followed neon green frogs painted on the building’s sidewalk to their respective classrooms.
