Beginner and intermediate lessons will be offered at the following parks: Rath Park, 849 Fenworth Boulevard, Franklin Square; Seamans Neck Road, Seaford; Speno Park, Newbridge Avenue, East Meadow; and Baldwin Park, 3232 South Grand Avenue, Baldwin Harbor.

Beginner lessons will be conducted at these parks on Mondays and Wednesdays (beginning Sept. 23) at the following times: 10 to 11 a.m. and 11 a.m. to noon at Seamans Neck and Speno Parks; and 11 a.m. to noon and noon to 1 p.m. at Baldwin and Rath Parks.

Intermediate lessons will meet at the same locations on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning Sept. 24, according to the following schedule: 10 to 11 a.m. and 11 a.m. to noon at Seamans Neck and Speno Parks; and 11 a.m. to noon and noon to 1 p.m. at Baldwin and Rath Parks.

All lessons, regardless of level or location, will register at the Merrick Road Park Golf Course Clubhouse on Clubhouse Road in Merrick on Tuesday, Sept. 8 from noon to 3 p.m. A registration fee of $20 ($10 for senior citizens) is payable by check or money order to the Town of Hempstead.

Evening lessons will be scheduled this fall at Seamans Neck and Baldwin Parks. Classes will be held at both sites on Monday and Wednesday nights beginning Sept. 23. Seamans Neck will host beginners from 7 to 8 p.m. and Intermediates from 8 to 9 p.m. Baldwin Park welcomes intermediates from 7 to 8 p.m. and beginners from 8 to 9 p.m.

All evening classes, regardless of time or location, will register in the Clubhouse of the Merrick Road Park Golf Course on Wednesday evening, Sept. 9 from 7 to 8 p.m. Again, the fees are $20 and $10 for seniors.

All tennis participants will be asked to supply their own rackets and tennis balls. For additional class or registration information, call the Town of Hempstead Department of Parks and Recreation at 292-9000, ext. 256.

"A variety of locations and a diversity of times, day and evening, provide ample opportunity for public participation in the town's ever-popular tennis program," concluded Councilman Anthony J.
