Catherine Malone of South Westbury is running on the Right to Life line for the 15th Assembly District seat.

In an interview last week the candidate said she chose to run because neither of the main party candidates had sought the endorsement of the Right to Life Party, and she did not want to let the line remain blank on the voting ballot. By filling the line, she hopes to help get out the anti-abortion message of the Right to Life Party.

"I want to make sure that the unborn has a voice," she said.

Malone has been a Right to Life candidate in several local elections since 1982, including runs for town council, Assembly, and most recently, in 1994, for State Senate.

A resident of South Westbury for 50 years, she has 7 children and 17 grandchildren.
