Turkey Bowl

Sign up now for Westbury Recreation Department’s annual Turkey Bowl. There will be three divisions and five man teams: 7 to 9 year olds (9:30-10:30 a.m.), 10 to 12 year olds (10:30-11:30 a.m.), and 13-15 year olds (11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.). Awards and medals for each participant and trophies for the first place team.  Call the village recreation department at 334-5560 for more information.

Pancake Breakfast

Westbury Boy Scout Troop 233 will be holding a pancake breafkast at Westbury United Methodist Church, 365 Asbury Avenue. From 8 a.m. to noon. 

 

Tree Lighting

The village of Westbury will hold their tree lighting festivities at 4 p.m. at the Vilage Recreation Center, at 348 Post Avenue. 

 

First Night and Tree Lighting

View the Westbury House at Old Westbury Gardens in holiday splendor. The evening features a tree lighting, cookies and cider, a performance by members of the Bethel Concert Choir and a visit from Santa. Tickets are $10/8 for members, $5 for children (ages 3 to 17) and member children are free. Advance tickets required. Event starts at 6:30 p.m. For more information visit www.oldwestburygardens.org.

Holiday Concert

The Long Island Flute Club will be having a concert at the Red Ballroom of Old Westbury Gardens at 1 p.m. Free with admission to the gardens. Seating is limited so arrive early. Find out more at longislandfluteclub.org.

Children are invited to come make holiday cards at Old Westbury Gardens from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. No registration is required. Free with admission. 

 

Holiday Concert

Suzuki on the Island will be playing a concert at Old Westbury Gardens at 2 p.m. Free with admission to the gardens. Seating is limited so arrive early. Find out more at suzukiontheisland.org.

Farmer’s Market 

The New Cassel Farmers’ Market market provides farm-fresh, local produce to customers at an affordable price and acts as a gathering place where neighbors can come together, share recipes and enjoy fun activities for the entire family. Operated by Unified New Cassel Community Revitalization Corp., the market is open every Saturday through Nov. 23 from 11 – 4 p.m. or until sold out in the parking lot of First Baptist Cathedral located at 212 Garden Street, Westbury. Meet the Mayor 

Westbury mayor Peter Cavallaro holds office hours on the first and third Thursdays of the month from 5 to 7 p.m., and the second Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Village Hall. No appointment is necessary.
