The Village of Westbury and Westbury Business Improvement District encourages everyone to shop local on Small Business Saturday, a day dedicated to supporting local businesses across the country. Sign up now for Westbury Recreation Department’s annual Turkey Bowl. There will be three divisions and five man teams: 7 to 9 year olds (9:30-10:30 a.m.), 10 to 12 year olds (10:30-11:30 a.m.), and 13-15 year olds (11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.). Come and celebrate the seventh night of Chanukah on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at the Viana Hotel, 3998 Brush Hollow Road in Westbury. The Chabad Learning Center will be celebrating the seventh night of Chanukah on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at the Viana Hotel in Westbury. They will be lighting the seventh candle at 7 p.m., followed by an inspiration lecture by Rabbi Mendy Brownstein from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. This powerful lecture will be followed by a collation with sufganiyot ( jelly donuts) and latkes, along with a Q&A with lively discussions, from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. For more information, contact Rabbi Mendy Brownstein at 516-922-7462 (simcha) or at 917-474-4881. Westbury Boy Scout Troop 233 will be holding a pancake breakfast at Westbury United Methodist Church, 365 Asbury Avenue. From 8 a.m. to noon.
The village of Westbury will hold their tree lighting festivities at 4 p.m. at the Village Recreation Center, at 348 Post Avenue.
The Westbury Board of Education will hold a planning meeting at Powells Lane School at 7:30 p.m.
Carle Place Board of Education Meeting
The Carle Place Board of Education will be having a business meeting at Cherry Lane School starting at 8 p.m.
Westbury mayor Peter Cavallaro holds office hours on the first and third Thursdays of the month from 5 to 7 p.m., and the second Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Village Hall. No appointment is necessary.
