Kellenberg AD, Westbury Resident Edward Solosky Dies in Delaware Car Crash

Kellenberg: ‘Beloved Educator, Athletic Director, Coach and Friend’

Edward Solosky, a Westbury resident and athletic director at Kellenberg Memorial High School in Uniondale, died on Tuesday, Feb. 15 in a three-car crash in Bridgeville, Del., said police.

The 48-year-old taught at Kellenberg for 20 years and coached football, volleyball and softball. He also chaired the history department. His wife, Elizabeth, whom he met at Kellenberg, and two daughters, Katie, 9, and Lauren, 6, survive him.

Solosky’s wake was held on Friday, Feb. 18 in the Kellenberg auditorium. He was buried in the Cemetery of the Holy Rood in Westbury the following day. A Facebook page created in memorial has over 2,500 members, who utilized the site to share stories and photographs in his honor.

The family of Mr. Edward Solosky is requesting that in lieu of flowers donations be made to a fund established for the benefit of his two daughters. Checks may be made payable to Solosky Children Memorial Fund. Donations may be mailed to: Solosky Children Memorial Fund
