Family Barn Dance

Bring the whole family, especially the kids and grandparents, to a fun-filled evening of live music and dancing. A caller will instruct country-style dances, while musicians from the LI Traditional Music Association (www.litma.org) provide lively folk music. The dance runs from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Westbury Friends Community Center, 550 Post Ave., Westbury. Cost: free for under 18; $7 adults. Long Island Choral Society

Presents Mozart’s Requiem, Puccini’s Gloria and Pärt’s Beatitudes. President’s & Principal’s Dinner

Today will mark the 50th time PTA presidents, school administrators and invited guests from across Nassau County have gathered together to enjoy a special evening celebrating the collaboration between school and community. Held at the Crest Hollow Country Club, the distinguished guest speaker will be National PTA President Chuck Saylors. In addition to what is certain to be an informative and motivating speech by President Saylors, entertainment will be provided by some of Nassau County’s talented students from the LI High School for the Arts.
