In last week’s Village of Westbury election, Beaumont Jefferson was elected to the board after running unopposed. He will complete the year remaining on the term he was appointment to last July after former trustee Peter Cavallaro was elected mayor.
Jefferson, who collected 216 votes, has resided in the village’s Sherwood Gardens section for the past 16 years. He is a past member of the village’s Community Development Agency as well as past president and current board member of the Sherwood Civic Association and the chairman of the Westbury Amateur Baseball Association (WABA) – Little League.
The Westbury Village Board has scheduled a public hearing on the 2010-2011 village budget for April 15 at Westbury Village Hall, 235 Lincoln Place.
