Frederick S. Smith, lifelong resident of  Westbury, died on Sept. 4, 2009 after a long illness. Beloved husband of Edith. Loving father of Nancy Garland (Thomas), Frederick P., Carol and Deborah Sowa (Joseph). Fond grandfather of Michael, Kerri, Stefanie, Sean and Allison. Dear great- grandfather of Jackson. The family received friends on Sept. 8 at the Donohue Cecere Funeral Home, Westbury. Funeral services held Sept. 9 at the funeral home. Interment following at Pinelawn Memorial Park.
