George T. Hutchinson
George T. Hutchinson, born July 16, 1929 in Westbury, died July 31, 2010 at his son Thomas’ home in Bel Alton, MD. Mr. Hutchinson was the son of the late George and Mary(Dysko) Hutchinson of Westbury. He graduated from Westbury High School in 1947 and then enlisted in the Navy serving during the Korean War. In 1950 he married Beverly Wylie of Westbury. They settled in Syosset after Mr. Hutchinson’s discharge from the Navy in 1953 and had two children, Thomas and Kim.

Mr. Hutchinson was a member of the Syosset Fire Department. He worked for several engineering firms in New York City before moving to Gaithersburg, MD, and serving as the senior electrical engineer on the National Bureau of Standards. He then worked for several electrical engineering firm prior to his retirement in 1999 from Golden Engineering in Washington, D.C. Prior to retirement Mr. Hutchinson and the family moved to Waldorf, MD. His wife Beverly died in 2005 and he moved to Bel Alton, MD, to live with his son Thomas. He was preceeded in death by his wife of 56 years Beverly, his parents, George and Mary Dysko Hutchinson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Joe and Fannie Wylie; sister-in law and husband James and Eileen Greenlees. Mr. Hutchinson is survived by son Thomas, daughter-in-law Phyllis Hutchinson, granddaughter Rebecca, grandson Josh, all of Bel Alton; daughter Kim, granddaughter Amanda, grandson Kenny, his wife Mindie and great-granddaughter Abigail of Tacoma, WA, and granddaughter Taylor Hutchinson of Olympia, WA.

Funeral service will be held graveside at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD. Chaplin for the Southern Maryland Fireman’s Association will officiate.
