The SUNY College at Old Westbury softball team helped raise money and awareness for the West Islip Breast Cancer Care Coalition Sunday afternoon by participating in a Zumba-Thon at Roseland School of Dance in Oakdale, New York. Panther Softball participated in all three hours of the Zumba-Thon that raised $450 for breast cancer awareness.
Zumba is a fitness program involving dance and aerobic elements. Zumba’s choreography incorporates hip-hop, samba, salsa, merengue, mambo, martial arts and some Bollywood and belly dancing moves. Squats and lunges are also included.
