Its time to get out your grass skirts, coconut bras and running sneakers as The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Long Island Chapter will host its Pineapple Classic on Sunday, April 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The NYIT Campus in Old Westbury. There will be a post-race luau with beer garden and entertainment.
This is not just any 5K – it’s a fun, Hawaiian-themed, 5K obstacle course run. Participants, who are encouraged to dress in a Hawaiian-themed outfit, will be climbing, crawling, bouncing and bending to raise funds for blood cancer research.
The event is open to anyone age 8 years or older. Fees and fundraising information are available at http://li.pineapple.llsevent.org or by calling Jaclyn Sturtevant at (631) 370-7537 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
