Anthony “A-Train” Giallanzo of Westbury has been selected to box in the Seventh Annual Long Island Fight for Charity, which will be held Nov. 23 at the Long Island Hilton in Melville. This action-packed event is one of the island’s leading charity fundraising and networking events. The event is expected to have an attendance of more than 1,200 people and to raise over $150,000 for local charities.
More than 15 of Long Island’s brightest and bravest business professionals will go toe to toe in the ring. The card for the evening will include more than 10 bouts that pit local business professionals against each other for charity. One of the many anticipated bouts will include Giallanzo, vice president of Ultimate Performance & Fitness Inc.
“The Fight For Charity is a unique opportunity for local professionals to be part of something extraordinary. I can’t wait to get in the ring on fight night and show everyone what I’ve learned,” said Giallanzo.
“When we started the Fight for Charity seven years ago, we never imagined how popular it would become. If it were not for all the individuals who volunteer to box and help us put this event together, it would never have emerged as one of the Island’s premier charity networking events that it is today,” said Long Island Fight for Charity co-founder Jeff Cohen.
Tickets for the event are available online. Ringside seats are $295 and premium seats are $150; both include admission to a pre-event special networking and cocktail reception. The event starts at 5 p.m. and will feature food and beverages from a variety of leading Long Island businesses.
Charities to be supported by this year’s event include Long Island Community Chest, which will distribute the funds to local charities including the Genesis School, Family Residences and Essential Enterprises, Inc. The sponsors for the event are The Fuoco Group, Zoom Wireless, Guardian Life Insurance and Innovative Planning Services.
